Icom IC-25A (IC 25 A IC25A) transceiver mods reviews software and diagrams

The radio will exibit normal function on even frequencys but will not tx/rx when the freq. ends in 5khz.

The problem is that the local osc. crystal is being loaded by a small cap which is switched by a diode. Normally this loading will change the freq. of the radio 5khz.
In this case the crystal will not take the extra loading and will stop ossic. compleatly.

To repair change or replace the #1 Local oss. Xtal. It is located on the back edge of the board of the Pll section.
Very easy fix.
