Icom IC-2800H (IC 2800 H IC2800H) transceiver mods reviews software and diagrams

Before beginning, I naturally accept NO liability if someone screws up this mod! It is direct from Icom America, and worked well for me!

After mod Frequency Range:
118.0 to 135.995(AM/FM)/ 136.00 to 174.00 MHz
320.0 to 399.995(AM/FM)/ 400.00 to 530.00 MHz

Steps:

1. Remove cover (one bolt on cover).
   
   
2. Look at the main board. Locate the main processor, under a RF shield.
   Just to the right of it, among all of the diodes, you should see a vertical jumper marked W13.
   
   
3. Cut the jumper (do it on top to allow for reconstruction later if you want).
   
   
4. Reassemble to radio, and try it out!

Additional info.
In some European models RX is not extended even W13 is removed. To Extend VHF and UHF rx do the following trick:

Press and hold 4th buttons from top (both, left and right side of the display) while turning the radio on.
