I have both a FT100 and a FT100D. This mod applies only to the FT100.
If you see on the ACC output an attempt to switch to a grounded state but the ACC action does not quite switch over the relay in the amp as would a direct short on the two wires of the ALC from the amp, then I found just now the following mod direct from Yaesu and have not noticed this mod anywhere else. Yaesu has a tech bulletin on this but tech would not give me the reference number.
If you see attempted switching action on ACC output the transistor is probably OK. ((Two resistors need to be swapped out.))
As I understand it, and will do it soon the following.
On the bottom side of the radio in the PA unit transistor 3012 is the focus. You only need to change two resistors coming off the base. One resistor is R3052 which is a 4.7K in series with the base which needs to be changed to a 2.2K. Also off that same base direct to ground is resistor R3053 which now is a 1K and needs to be changed to a 22K ohm resistor.
That should take the AGC Amp relay solidly too ground when the mic is keyed.
