A remote kit for the 8900 can easily be built.
You can rebuild a longer 6 pin flat phone cable, and use velcro to stick the control head on the dash. The cable though needs to be rotated 180 degrees. In essence, when the cable is perfectly flat, the tab on one end of the cable is up, the cable is rotated 180 degrees, and the opposite tab is down.
If you look closely at the small cable that attaches the front control head to the radio, the red and black wires are close to the left side of the pin on one tab, while they are opposite side on the other tab.
Using this cable as a template, it is easy to use 6 pin crimpers from radio shack and rebuild a longer needed cable to remote mount the radio.
Since no dealers seem to have the remote kits yet, this simple mod does work very fine.
